MEET THE TEAM

Founder and CEO

Mikala has a bachelor's degree in Community Engagement and Education, emphasizing Peace and Conflict Resolution, and a master's degree in Sustainable Peacebuilding. She started in this field organizing around student rights and environmental work. She excelled through passion and a practice grounded in history and research, quickly moving into leadership roles organizing statewide conferences, mass coordinated demonstrations, and countless workshops and “training for trainers” focusing on direct action and deconstructing internalized “Isms.” 

Later she took a step back to pursue other lines of work teaching and developing a direct-action curriculum with a holistic understanding of community organizing using the insights of her previous training. She is inspired and motivated daily through the opportunity to develop people's potential, whether through education, access to capital, or by providing opportunity and a platform for a greater voice and equitable representation.

Working with big picture concepts of change and innovation, she started LET'S Consulting to help organizations understand theories of change, social networks, and systems thinking to map out formal and informal processes and identify leverage points, strengths, and gaps in organizations and programs.

She strives to identify and refine processes to create paths to encompass all of these mechanisms into a holistic practice that is cognizant of the manifestation of difference from person to person and uniform enough to scale impact to meet the social problems we face as a human race.
